Open the Windows search bar and go to the ‘Printers or Scanners System Settings’.
Click ‘Add a printer or scanner’.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on ‘the printer that I want isn’t listed’.
Check ‘add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname’ and click ‘Next’.
Enter a hostname or IP address and click ‘Next’.
Contact OIT for the appropriate IP address for the printer.
Click ‘Next’
Select the appropriate driver for the printer you are mapping if it is unavailable you will need to go to the printer vendor to download the appropriate driver.
After downloading the driver, the driver may need to be extracted before moving forward.
You will select ‘Have Disk…’ and use the driver that you downloaded.
Click ‘OK’.
Then ‘Next’.
Rename the printer if you want and click ‘Next’.
Make sure ‘do not share this printer’ is checked and click ‘Next’.
