How to Map a Printer with Macintosh

  1. Navigate to the Apple menu in the top left corner.
  2. Open ‘System Preferences’.
  3. Click on ‘Printer and Scanner’.
  4. Click on ‘Add Icon’.
  5. Click on the globe icon.
  6. Use the HP Jetdirect -Socket option under the Protocol drop down.
  7. Enter the host name or IP address of the printer.
  8. Contact OIT for the appropriate IP address for the printer.
  9. Click ‘OK’.
