How to Map a Network Share in Windows

Network shares are often referred to by the name or letter given to that share.

  1. Open ‘File Explorer’ and right click on ‘This PC’.
  2. Go to ‘Map network drive…’ and click it.
  3. Select a drive letter that is not being used.
  4. Enter the network address/location of the network share you want to connect to.
    • If you are using a computer that is not controlled by the UGA College of Engineering, click ‘Connect using different credentials’.
  5. On the popup window, type ‘myid\’ before your MyID username.
    • You will use your MyID password.
  6. Check ‘Remember my credentials’ and hit ‘OK’.
