How to Set Up
Windows
If you are using Windows 10, your computer will already have OneDrive installed.
1. When OneDrive Setup starts, enter your UGA email, and select sign in.

2. Do not change the location of your OneDrive folder, and click ‘Next’.

3. Uncheck the following folders.

3. Keep clicking ‘Next’ then click ‘Open my OneDrive folder’.

MacOS
2. Open OneDrive and enter your UGA email and select sign in.

3. Keep clicking ‘Next’. If the following pop-up appears, click ‘Ok’.

4. Click ‘Later’.

5. It should look similar to this.

Recovering Files
Go to the OneDrive website and sign in with your school account.
1. In the navigation pane, select ‘Recycle bin’.

2. Select the files/folders you want to restore by hovering and right-clicking on them. Then click ‘Restore’. Now they can be found in their original location.

Sharing Files
1. Click ‘File’

2. Click ‘Share’

3. Click ‘Share with People’


5. Select ‘People you specify can edit’ to open the link settings.

6. From this page, you can change the link permissions.
Select an option for who you want to give access to with the link.
- Anyone: gives access to anyone that receives this link, regardless of whether they receive it from you directly.
- People in University of Georgia with the link: gives anyone in your organization with the link access to the file.
- People with existing access: people who already have access to the document continue to have access, without any changes to their permissions.
- Specific People: gives access only to the people you specify.
Under ‘Other Settings’ you can change any of the following:
- Allow Editing: allows people to edit the files/folders they have access to.
- Open in review mode only: limits people to leaving comments on the file.
- Block Download: prevents people from downloading the files/folders they have access to.
7. Once you have finished setting your permissions, select ‘Apply’.
How to Stop Sharing Files
1. Right-click on the file/folder you want to stop sharing. Select ‘Manage access’.

2. Click the drop-down arrow under ‘People you specify can edit’.

3. Select the ‘X’ next to the names of the people you want to stop sharing with.

Sync Team Files
1. Select ‘Teams’ and the team you want to sync files with.

2. Select ‘Files’.

3. Select ‘Sync’. (You only need to do this once. After you set up syncing, the files will sync automatically.)

4. If your browser requests permission to use ‘Microsoft OneDrive’, confirm that this is ok.
