by The College of Engineering provides website hosting at no cost. The sites hosted by the college are managed through cPanel by the site owner. The requestors may choose the domain name (sample.engr.uga.edu) or (sample.uga.edu). For other domain names outside of the UGA domain, the requestor will have to register the domain name at their cost. The College of Engineering will still host the site at no cost. A third party content manager can be used, as long as it supports MySQL. All websites hosted are backed up nightly.
To begin setting up a website, please send a request to support@engr.uga.edu. In your request, please provide your preferred content manager and the domain name you would like to use. If you prefer to use WordPress as your content manager, OIT can set it up for you; this must be specified in your original request.
If you choose to use a 3rd party company, you must ensure all UGA procurement and EITS information security requirements are met.
